YLI Partners with the League of Women Voters to Bring Elected Officials into Classrooms | February 23rd, 2005
The Youth Leadership Initiative and the League of Women Voters have teamed up to provide opportunities for teachers and students to meet their elected officials.
This new initiative will match YLI classroom teachers with local League members, who will draw on their experience in interacting with local representatives to assist teachers with setting up classroom visits. To help teachers prepare their students, YLI has developed the lesson plan “Learning from Elected Officials.” The lesson includes activities, questions, and other ways to encourage student interaction during the visit.
